Respite Care

Planned and emergency respite for family carers. Whether it is a few hours or several days, we step in so you can rest — knowing the person you care for is in safe, familiar hands.

Caring for someone you love is not a job you clock off from. The tiredness is cumulative, and most carers only ask for help once they are well past the point they should have.

Respite is not a failure of commitment. It is what makes long-term caring sustainable.

Planned respite

The most useful respite is the kind you can rely on — a regular, recurring block you can plan the rest of your life around. A standing Tuesday morning is worth more than an occasional emergency scramble.

Short-notice respite

Things go wrong. Carers get sick, families have emergencies, and sometimes you simply hit a wall. Call us and we will give you a straight answer about capacity — we would rather say no quickly than string you along.

Common questions

Respite Care — FAQs

How much notice do you need?

For planned respite, a week or more lets us match the right worker. For urgent situations, call us — we will tell you straight away whether we have capacity rather than leaving you waiting on a maybe.

Will the carer know my family member's routine?

Yes. Before any respite booking we take a written handover covering routine, medications, communication preferences, triggers and what a good day looks like. The worker reads it before they arrive.

Can respite happen somewhere other than home?

Support can include outings and community activities during the respite period. We do not operate a residential respite facility — our respite is delivered in the person's own home and community.
